I first met Lucy and John last year, when they asked me to come to their house to photograph their baby daughter. So when, at the beginning of this year, they contacted me to see if I would shoot their wedding down in Worcestershire, I jumped at the chance!
Their wedding took place in the grounds of Lucy’s Aunt and Uncle’s beautiful home. So much thought and attention had gone into the day; the ceremony was conducted by a celebrant and was one of the nicest and most personal wedding ceremonies I have witnessed, and was made extra special by their daughter being the ring bearer! The reception had a village fete feel to it, complete with ice cream cart, coconut shy and welly tossing! Lucy, John and their families and friends had all worked so hard to make the day perfect and one of the touches I especially loved, was that all the guests had baked cakes for desert.
The weather forecast in the run-up to the big day was pretty appalling, but the weather Gods were certainly shining down and the day passed with nothing more than a few showers. Although, watch out for the photograph below of when the beautiful flower arch nearly blew away!
Here are some of my favourite images from the day. A BIG thank you to Lucy and John for asking me to capture it – it was an honour and I wish you both a lifetime of happiness together.
